First Training of Trainers Conference for the Bosnian Language Edition of the JHP Workbooks.

18 – 20 April 2008

Overcoming the previous political setbacks to the BiH phases of the JHP, a group of dedicated teachers, trainers and CDRSEE staff successfully carried out a positive, constructive and beneficial Training of Trainers’ conference in Sarajevo.

Trainers and participants at the conference in Sarajevo

Gathering seventeen history teachers from throughout Bosnia Herzegovina, the Conference marked the beginning of training activities in the country; re-invigorating the JHP process in BiH with enthusiasm and high quality participation.

Teachers and future trainers were introduced to the 4 Workbooks by Prof. Christina Koulouri, series editor, Hayrettin Kaya, editor of the Turkish Language edition and Dr. Enes Milak, editor of the Bosnian Language edition. The goal of the Conference was not only to present the material, but also to familiarize future trainers with the participative method of history teaching, which they would pass on to colleagues, as well as utilize in their own lectures in the future.

Training activities in Bosnia Herzegovina are sponsored by the National Endowment for Democracy and Irish Aid. For more information on the JHP and for a free download of the Bosnian Language edition please click here.
